Leatherman makes such a wide range of multi-tools that it can be challenging to determine which one is right for you.

Leatherman Rebar vs Wingman – Overview
Leatherman Rebar
Leatherman Rebar is an outdoor, working-man tool with pliers, wire cutters, and a screwdriver for heavy use.
The first thing you’ll notice when you hold a Leatherman Rebar in your hand is a large chunk and Nick for two key knives, which allows them to open even with gloves. Like other full-size Leatherman tools, it comes with a simple point clip edge blade and a sheep foot jagged blade.
The second propeller is made of 420HC stainless steel, while the lower-end steel cutlery is inexpensive and simple to re-sharpen. There is, however, a simple way to decide which knife you are opening before; maybe a touch of an indicator like that seen on wave would suffice here. The grip also includes both imperial and royal metrics.

Construction Quality
The Rebar is a high-quality multi-tool manufactured in the United States, much as every other Leatherman tool. Leatherman describes the steel used to make the Rebar as “premium steel,” whatever that entails. The knife is made of 420HC steel, which is capable of cutting through almost any material.
When you keep the Rebar in your lap, you get the impression that it will quickly accomplish whatever mission you offer it. The assurance that this multi-tool can function when you need it is the most appealing attribute – it was designed to function, and it will.
Leatherman Wingman
Leatherman Wingman is sometimes referred to as your go-to tool for tasks at home, college, or camp. It is a great tool – lightweight, pocket-sized, and made of stainless steel. It is a 2.6″ knife, which is more than suitable for most folding knife work. It is also covered by Leatherman’s 25-year warranty. Possibly the most unusual aspect of Wingman is a box opener.
Leatherman Wingman multi-tool does not have as many different tools as some other versions in the line-up (Wave, Surge, or Rebar). Despite this, it contains a whopping 14 tools in a compact, foldable package.

Construction Quality
In terms of overall quality, it more than lives up to the Leatherman brand. Though it is not on the same standard as some of their more costly ones, it feels strong in use. Made of 420HC stainless steel, it has amazing longevity while being lightweight enough to be carried around.
We were also impressed by the high quality compared to some of the best ones, owing to the Wingman being almost $100 less expensive than some of the more powerful versions available. We wouldn’t depend on the Wingman for daily usage, but as an upgrade to your EDC arsenal, we’d have no trouble bringing it.
Rebar vs Wingman – Comparison
Budget
Pricing is the first aspect that can influence consumers’ purchasing decisions. A more expensive product would undoubtedly have more features and extra benefits in terms of cost, but there are moments where you do not want to spend more on a multi-tool.
Tools
While Wingman has almost all of the equipment you’ll ever need in your daily adventures; Leatherman Rebar is the absolute winner in terms of tools.
Wingman has 14 different tools that can be used as a traditional multi-tool. On the other hand, Leatherman Rebar has up to 17 different tools, and these tools have endless uses in your everyday life.
Design
At first sight, Wingman does not seem to be a well-groomed full-size multi-tool like Wave+ or Leatherman Rebar. Both items have compact designs, but the polishing and finishing of the Leatherman Wingman should be improved.
Leatherman Rebar is an excellent multi-tool that looks amazing even with additional tools and functionalities.
Conclusion
Which one should you buy? We prefer the Wingman if you want a multi-tool lightweight enough to fit in your pocket, one that you’ll keep in your desk or kitchen junk drawer if you’ll mostly use the knife and find a scissors handy.
Choose Rebar if you want a more professionally capable multi-tool to deal with the much more expensive Wave and Charge, a product that requires an excellent file, awl, and superior wire cutter.
